| This is one of the really cool things that the Internet
has brought to us. Suppose you run a small business and have two
offices, one in Brentwood, the other in Brighton (or even Capetown!). Wouldn't it be useful to be able to access files on computers
in both local and
remote offices, just as if they were all on the same local network?
A Virtual
Private Network (VPN) does this. It will allow you to print in a remote
office or access a database there. Once you have set up a VPN you can
use it to back up your critical data or even run your surveillance system
over it.
Basically, a VPN is a private network that
uses a public network (usually the Internet) to connect remote sites or
users together. Instead of using an expensive connection such as leased
line, a VPN can work over your broadband and create, what will appear to
be a dedicated connection between your offices or employees.

capability to your network, give CompuGuide a call for a site survey and
